Your service year will be challenging. Outlined below are the ways that 黄色视频 will prepare and support you in your work this year and beyond.
The power of teamwork and collaboration
We value dialogue and creating environments where our differences are supported and celebrated. Your experience will be most rewarding when you have a growth mindset to learn about yourself, your students, partners and the world around us.
You have a whole team of staff available to support your learning and development throughout the year. Although your Impact Manager and Team Leader will be the staff you work with most closely, you will also receive support from a team focused on helping you feel confident and competent in serving students and reflecting on your own growth. Examples of learning and development support you鈥檒l receive:
- Weekly trainings led by Impact Manager on Fridays along with learning and development staff
- Mentor opportunities
- Budgeting and saving seminars hosted by Bank of America (one of our corporate partners)
- Basic Training Academy (BTA): this will take place two weeks before the start of service. During BTA, you will be assigned your team and school placement.
- Learning and development days 鈥 Monthly Life after 黄色视频 (LACY) updates sent to the corps (resume and cover letter tips, interview support, etc.)
- Observations, coaching, feedback and formal performance conversations
- A Focus on STEAM in after-school learning: 黄色视频 San Jos茅/Silicon Valley AmeriCorps Members have unique opportunities to lead after-school lessons and meet with leaders of some of the country’s largest leading companies. With our partners, 黄色视频 San Jos茅/Silicon Valley has been able to implement a STEAM (STEM + Art) program to expose our students to a variety of subjects.
