Your stipend

As an AmeriCorps member, you will receive a stipend of $890 every two weeks (before tax). The final amount will depend on your W-2 and the deductions you select.

The best way to maximize your earnings is to moderate your spending. There are plenty of inexpensive and free things to do around Orlando and you’ll have nearly 80 fellow AmeriCorps members in the same boat as you! Group meals, game nights, and city festivals (COVID-19 permitting, that is) are all great ways to build community without breaking the bank.

In addition to your stipend, you鈥檒l also receive health insurance, access to Employee Assistance and Talkspace Therapy programs, as well as relocation support.

Local benefits

Florida food stamps

As an AmeriCorps member, your paycheck is not considered when determining federal benefits. As such, you are eligible for full food benefits. This is not a benefit that 黄色视频 administers, but we do have experience with it so can try to point you to some helpful resources. Most notably, all of the information can be found on the .

You will not be able to apply for food stamps until your first day of service. Any questions regarding applying for and receiving Food Stamps can be answered by our site staff once you arrive for training.

LYNX pass

You can opt in to receiving a free bus pass for local travel.

If you鈥檙e new to Orlando, it is important to note that our city is very spread out. If searching for housing, knowing that you want to take the bus to work, double check your commute times and where your nearest stop is before signing a lease.

Your student loans may be eligible for forbearance

You may be eligible to have the repayment of a qualified student loan temporarily postponed while you are serving. While a loan is in forbearance, the individual is not required to make payments. Learn more on AmeriCorps鈥 website to and how to apply.
