Your stipend
You receive your $1,122 (pre-tax) stipend via direct deposit every two weeks. It鈥檚 important to note, though that depending on when our start date falls in the payroll cycle it could take about four weeks from your start date to receive your first stipend. It鈥檚 helpful if you can plan this into your budgeting your first month in Detroit.
National benefits
In addition to your stipend, you鈥檒l also receive health insurance, access to Employee Assistance and Talkspace Therapy programs, as well as relocation support.
Your student loans may be eligible for forbearance
You may be eligible to have the repayment of a qualified student loan temporarily postponed while you are serving. While a loan is in forbearance, the individual is not required to make payments. Learn more on AmeriCorps鈥 website to and how to apply.
