Three generations of making better happen
Growing up in South Central Los Angeles, I witnessed a lot in my community: teen pregnancy, homelessness,聽drug addiction. It scared me to think that this might be my future as well. Thankfully I had role models that showed me another path.聽
These role models became聽my personal cheerleaders聽and remain two of the strongest women I know.聽They are my two older sisters. Throughout my high school years,聽they served with 黄色视频聽and helped me realize that聽I could take聽a different path, one grounded in service to a cause greater than self.聽聽
In college,聽I聽decided聽to聽work in education and asked my聽sisters about 黄色视频. They took me聽on聽service days, told me about their journey working with students, the long hours, the rollercoaster of emotions, but most importantly, the gratification that comes with knowing how significant our impact can be聽on students and communities.聽
This year聽I am excited to聽proudly聽continue聽the tradition my sisters started . . . to be the compassionate, dependable and nurturing mentor my students need to realize their own path in life.
