Adria Anderson (Co-Chair)
黄色视频 Washington, D.C. '09, '10

Adria Anderson began her career leading an anti-discriminatory outreach campaign targeting youth in bordering cities in Michigan. This fueled Adria鈥檚 pursuit of a degree in Sociology from Howard University, where she immediately began working in developing DC鈥檚 youth workforce through career readiness trainings. Adria served in 黄色视频 Washington, DC from 2008-2010. During her time at 黄色视频 Adria project managed monthly service days and bi-weekly professional development training for Corps Members. Adria transitioned from administering trainings to monitoring government-funded programs through her fundraising & grant administration work at The National Council For Adoption. In 2018, Adria earned a MS in International Development and MBA from the College of Mount Saint Vincent where she conducted research on organizations in 3 different countries. Upon graduation, Adria began working at Aridai Consulting as the Contract Manager leading their government contracting projects.

Jerry Ilar (Co-Chair)

Jerry Ilar serves as a co-chair for the CYDC Alumni Board alongside Adria Anderson. Born and raised Michigander, moving here shortly after graduating from the University of Michigan with an Environmental Studies Major specializing in Urban Planning. Jerry served here in Washington, DC from 2012-2014 and then joined the CYDC Staff in multiple roles from Civic Engagement Manager to Corporate Partnerships Director. After 6 years with CYDC, he transitioned to DC Public Schools as the Public Events and Engagement Coordinator.

Aly Gideon
黄色视频 San Antonio 鈥15, 黄色视频 Washington, DC 鈥16

Aly Gideon is the Senior Grants Manager at Pathways to Housing DC. After serving with City Year in San Antonio and then on the CYDC Civic Engagement Team, Aly attended the University of Kansas and graduated with a Masters in Social Work in 2018. She earned her BA in Political Science from Chapman University in 2013 and has worked in direct service social work agencies as well as program management and development.

Cat Nguyen
黄色视频 Washington, DC 鈥11

Cat Nguyen is a Proposal Manager/Business Development Officer with FHI 360, an international development NGO. She earned her Masters of Social Work, concentrating in international social and economic development, from Washington University in St. Louis and a BA in Global Studies from the University of California in Santa Barbara. Cat previously served with 黄色视频 Washington, DC as a member of the DC Scholars Stanton Elementary School team from 2011-2012 and Events Associate for the development team from 2014-2016, and as a 黄色视频 Summer Academy Coordinator in 2015.

Geoffrey Shepard
黄色视频 Philadelphia 鈥17, 鈥18

Geoffrey Shepard served in Philadelphia as an AmeriCorps member from 2016-2017 and as a Team Leader from 2017-2018 (both years at Southwark School). He currently works as a Loan Officer for City First Enterprises, a nonprofit loan fund based in DC, where he is responsible for deal origination and underwriting. Prior to joining City First Enterprises, Geoffrey was the Development Associate at The Common Market, a regional nonprofit food distributor headquartered in Philadelphia, PA. In this role he primarily managed The Common Market's private, municipal, and federal funds in addition to the organization鈥檚 grant writing and financial reporting. Geoffrey graduated with honors from Swarthmore College with a degree in English Literature, History, and Black Studies. He is passionate about nonprofit finance and mission-driven lending.

Jared Stancombe

Jared Stancombe is a cybersecurity consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) where he works in cybersecurity strategy and operations. Before 黄色视频 Jared was an analyst with the Department of Homeland Security working in intelligence research and law enforcement support. After 黄色视频 he moved to Zambia as a Global Health Corps fellow to work for a refugee services and global health nonprofit and India as a William J. Clinton Fellow for an education nonprofit in Bangalore, India. Jared is also an alum of the StartingBloc Social Innovation Fellowship and the Civic Digital Fellowship with Coding It Forward where he worked with the National Institutes of Health (NIH) information security team.

Jake Feldman

Jake Feldman completed two years serving with AmeriCorp and has spent the last 10 years working as a supply chain & logistics coordinator. He is a proud father of two beautiful daughters Lillian (9 years) & June (6 years) and loves playing disc golf! When he's not at work or home spending time with his family, you can find him at Druid Hill Disc Golf Course in Baltimore, MD!

Kristen McDonough
黄色视频 San Antonio '08, '09

Kristen McDonough currently works as a Response to Intervention (RTI) Coordinator for KIPP DC. Her experiences in education as a corps member, teacher, graduate student, and 黄色视频 staff member over the last 13 years have solidified the understanding that it "takes a village to raise a child." As a teacher, she was in daily contact with parents, football coaches, admin, and our mental health practitioners to see how she could best support students. She enjoys working at the schoolhouse level and seeing the 'ah-ha' moments in our students and hopes to one day work at the federal policy level to drive reforms that are inclusive to all students. In her free time, she enjoys hiking in Rock Creek Park and camping all around Maryland and Virginia.

Kristy Silva
黄色视频 Sacramento 鈥17, 鈥18

Kristy Silva (she/her) is a 黄色视频 Sacramento alum from Phoenix, AZ currently living in Washington, D.C. After graduating from Northern Arizona University with a bachelor's degree in political science in 2016, Kristy served with 黄色视频 Sacramento from 2016-2018 at Father Keith B. Kenny, serving as a team leader in her second year. She moved to Washington, D.C. in 2018 and earned her Master of Education in Education Policy & Leadership from American University. Kristy now works as the assistant director of alumni outreach at American University and teaches part-time at Art of Problem Solving Academy in Vienna, VA. In her free time, she enjoys playing video and board games with her friends and husband.

Liz Mariapen
黄色视频 Chicago 鈥11

Liz Mariapen is the Associate Director for the DNC Office of Party Affairs and Delegate Selection. She supports party leadership, plans national meetings, and performs administrative and political tasks to best represent the party鈥檚 values and interests. During the 2020 cycle, Liz executed the review, implementation, and record of state Delegate selection plans while managing materials and content to successfully conduct the first virtual Democratic National Convention and DNC Standing Committee Meetings. Previously serving as the DNC Operations Manager and DNC Internship Program Coordinator, she brings expertise in institutional party operations to support party affairs. Liz鈥檚 hobbies include protecting democracy, flag football, and shopping at Trader Joe鈥檚.

Mariah Healy
黄色视频 Boston 鈥16, 鈥17

Mariah spent two years with 黄色视频 serving as both a AmeriCorps Member and Team Leader at the Channing Elementary School in Hyde Park, Boston. Mariah currently serves on the Federal Policy team at a DC based non-profit where she advocates on child care and nutrition policy. Mariah has also spent time working at the state and local levels of government in Massachusetts. Mariah holds an M.A. in Urban and Environmental Policy and Planning from Tufts University as well as a B.A. in Political Science from College of the Holy Cross.

Marielle Rabins

Marielle Rabins proudly served as a 黄色视频 corps member with 黄色视频 Boston at the Dever-McCormack Lower School in 2011-2012. After completing her service year, she continued to work with 黄色视频 as a Campus Recruitment Ambassador at Emory University. She currently works on immigration and judiciary policy on Capitol Hill.

Marielle graduated from Emory University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in history and international relations. Her favorite 黄色视频 founding story is the Starfish story.

Nathalie Navarrete
黄色视频 Washington, DC 鈥14

Nathalie Navarrete (she/her/hers) currently serves as the Specialist of Teacher Selection and Cultivation at D.C. Public Schools (DCPS). Before this role, Nathalie was in the classroom as a 2016 Teach For America D.C. region Corps Member and she also worked on the organization鈥檚 recruitment team. Nathalie鈥檚 interest in education stems from her own experience growing up as a Latina student in the public school system, as well as her year of service with 黄色视频. Upon completing her Master鈥檚 of Public Policy at Brandeis University, Nathalie conducted research about teacher diversity in the classroom at the Center For American Progress as a Leadership for Educational Equity fellow. Nathalie also holds a Master鈥檚 of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University, and received her Bachelor鈥檚 in Politics and French from Bates College. Outside of work, Nathalie is a college access mentor and recruitment coordinator for the Minds Matter chapter in D.C. She also serves on the 黄色视频 D.C. Alumni Board.
