New York University’s Steinhardt School of Culture, Education and Human Development offers ��ɫ��Ƶ AmeriCorps members, alums and staff

$15,000 scholarships

The ��ɫ��Ƶ Scholarship awards $15,000 for up to five eligible ��ɫ��Ƶ applicants per year towards full-time graduate study in an on-campus master’s degree, advanced certificate or artist diploma program.

The scholarship may be renewed in subsequent years provided recipients maintain continuous registration and remain in good academic standing, according to Steinhardt standards. Candidates must also have a valid FAFSA on file and be deemed eligible for federal aid.

Scholarships are awarded to ��ɫ��Ƶ AmeriCorps members and alums who complete at least one term of service and ��ɫ��Ƶ staff employed for at least two years.

The scholarships described above represent the minimum awards; applicants will be considered for additional merit-based aid depending on the academic strength of their application.

To identify your ��ɫ��Ƶ affiliation

To request your ��ɫ��Ƶ service verification letter, please email the ��ɫ��Ƶ Alumni and Career Services Department at alumni@cityyear.org with “NYU Steinhardt: ��ɫ��Ƶ verification letter request” in the subject line. Include the site where you served and dates of service in the email. This letter will be sent directly back to you so that you can include it as a part of your application.

To access the application fee waiver and apply for the scholarship

To get the application fee waived, please select that you are affiliated with ��ɫ��Ƶ when prompted to do so on the online application. Please also list your ��ɫ��Ƶ experience on your résumé and other application materials.

To apply for the ��ɫ��Ƶ Scholarship, submit the new student scholarship application using the same login credentials you created for your Steinhardt graduate on-campus application and complete the FAFSA. The deadline for the scholarship application is March 1.
